two way tunic

L*SPACE Garcia Emroidered Tunic c/o, TEEKI Sunglasses, JEN HOODENPYLE Colored Rhinestone Statement Necklace, Vintage Belt, JAMI Estelle Bracelet, WILD ROSE Neon & Clear Heels

Late September isn't Summer, unless you live in the Dirty South like moi. So, I'm sorry Northeasters, but you can still find me at the pool on the weekends. Which means an L*SPACE bikini and coverup are viable outfits. This is not a #humblebrag, this is a regular brag. #SorryImNotSorry. With October a day or two away, I feel it is time to retire the triangle tops and string bottoms but I am not a "fall" person and don't particularly crave cold weather clothes. I try to keep my punchy brights and mini's out as long as possible. Since L*SPACE introduced their new line of clothing (The Collection) I'm not putting away this amazing tunic anytime soon.  It's a bird, it's a plane, it's a dress, it's a top, it's whatever I want because the length and long sleeves make it a transitional piece. This is my last nod to summer. Until next year, my love...

Well y'all, we've made it to the end of this festive floral journey. I'm no Johnnie Cochran, but I'd say I made a pretty damn good case for how many ways you can wear this freaking thing. I actually thought I'd be sick of it by now, but it's kinda like one of my favorite songs- Fu-Gee-La. I can listen to it 5 times in a row and say, "play it again!" But then my friends are like, "shut uuuup."

ESTHER BOUTIQUE Faux Leather Peplum Top, HOUSE OF HARLOW Chelsea Sunglasses, BAUBLE BAR Acetate Necklace, H&M Shimmer Trousers, VERSONA Metallic Flats

One of my favorite places to online shop (mostly because they're located down under) is Esther Boutique, where I got this laser cut peplum top. They carry colorful, quirky clothes that I seldom see anywhere else. Everything on the site sells out like freaking hot cakes though, so you must be vedy vedy sneaky, suh. Between the time I added this top to my cart and went to pay, my size had already become unavailable. Hence, they teency-weencyness of it, but WHATEV. Had to have. If you haven't already, check them out. Right now I'm eyeing: this top, this dress (similar to Sass & Bide!), this as a wedding guest dress, AND this dress, because it's HOT. Like anything you see?

ASOS Men's Grey Crew Neck Sweater, FOREVER 21 Faux Leather Pencil Skirt, DERNG Chain Necklace, ASOS Pom Pom Heels

I thought I had lost these pictures after I took them around this time last month. But no, they were just improperly filed in a folder entitled "internet randoms" with all of my favorite cyber space oddities like pictures of kittens saving children from an avalanche, Carly Rae Jepsen calling card templates, and informative pins with step by step instructions on how to change a tire using nothing but a spatula and some Aqua Net.

Not even remotely necessary. Which for me, makes it just so. Ya dig?

This dress is just stellar. As a color person (slightly different than a "person of color") I always choose the boldest and brightest, but in this case- the black is beyond stunning.

Black? Duh. Brown? Check. Red? Check. Blue? Suede with fringe, baby. Pink? Check. Green? Check. Glitter? Check. Nude? Ch....no.
I don't have any truly nude pumps. I mega want all of these. The patent & suede theme is pretty rockin on each pair, definitely thinking #3 will be the most versatile.

The Floral Blouse: 5 ways

September 17, 2012

I picked this flower print blouse at the grand opening of the Piperlime store in Soho while in NYC, and it matched almost everything I had in my carry for the week. I think I've worn it 5 times in the past two weeks. If you know me, these are earth shattering statistics. This is the 1st of 5 ways I've styled it.

I wore this outfit last Tuesday to the IFB Conference in NYC (see Ashley & me in the picture?). But due to the less than stellar weather, my makeup and hair looked like monkey a$$ after an hour. So, I was like hell-to-the-no are these pictures surfacing on the internet. Since my next stop was Chicago and I  had over a weeks worth of clothes in one carry on, I did a lot of outfit recycling. I ended up wearing this again the day I flew home. It played the role of  bookends for my trip, which explains why I am on Lakeshore Drive in the Windy City, donning what was intended to be photographed on the cobblestone streets of Soho. Usually I would, but Jimmy cracks corn and I don't care.
